Kuwait Pushes Sino-Arab Partnership to New Heights Ahead of 2026 Summit

Kuwait is clearly ambitious to extend its political, economic and cultural relations with China — which is part of a general Sino‑Arab relations trend.
During a recent meeting in Beijing, the Chinese foreign minister’s official in charge of West Asia and North Africa, after praising the progress of Sino-Arab cooperation. He pointed to the milestone 2022 Arab-Chinese Summit in Riyadh and mentioned the increasing collaboration in various sectors.
The Kuwaiti Ambassador reiterated Kuwait’s commitment to the Arab-Chinese cooperation, pledging that Kuwait will take an active part in the bilateral forums in the future. He stressed that Arab countries are committed to strengthening this partnership at every level.
Experts point out that the trade volume between Arab countries and China has just exceeded 400 billion USD. Kuwait is eager to leverage this momentum to deepen cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, technology, energy and cultural exchange.
This move is a clear indication of a strategic turn. By intensifying the relations with China, Kuwait and its Arab partners are not only seeking to diversify their economies, lessen the dependence on oil, but also to accept a future that is largely influenced by trade, technology and mutual development.
