Arab Media Union Launched to Strengthen Regional Media Cooperation

The Arab Media Union has been created by the Arab Economic Unity Council (AEUC) which is intended to boost the media collaboration of Arab countries, uphold the professional standards, and make the media in the region to be in line with the development goals. The Union is working as a specialized organization that is attached to the League of Arab States.
At the top of the Union is the chairperson Youssef Abdel-Wahab Al-Omairi and the Secretary-General is Sally Gad. The organisation holds the cooperation of the media experts and scholars from the Arab world. To the media, it is a mission to collaborate, to maintain professional standards, and to be part of the region’s economic, social, and cultural development progress.
The Union will arrange for the professional training, institutional partnerships, and media content innovation as part of this new organizational framework. It plans to keep up with the digitalization and the changing of the media world while portraying Arab viewpoints at both the regional and international levels.
Al-Omairi says that the Union will be working on the creation of a strong media group that will be speaking out on Arab matters and thus the global media would have more influence. Gad points to the training and partnership initiatives as the ones that would be coming up designed to raise the level of standards and to make the cooperation even stronger in the Arab media industry.
