Anthropic is in Talks to Purchase Decart AI

According to a source familiar with the situation, Anthropic is in talks to purchase Nvidia-backed firm Decart AI as the Claude manufacturer looks into acquisitions that could help it manage rising demand before going public.

According to sources cited by Bloomberg News, which broke the story on Wednesday, a sale might be worth roughly $6 billion.

According to the source, Decart, which creates optimization and AI infrastructure in addition to its own AI models, might assist Anthropic in meeting increased demand.

Decart did not immediately reply to Reuters’ request for comment outside of usual business hours, and an Anthropic representative declined to comment.

According to the company’s website, Decart’s Lucy model is capable of editing live footage in real time. Additionally, it has created Oasis, a model that creates simulated environments for robotics and autonomous-driving system testing and training.

According to the source, once the deal is finalized, Decart’s staff will join Anthropic’s inference and performance division.

Decart reported that it raised $300 million in a funding round headed by Radical Ventures in May, with Nvidia (NVDA.O) opening a new tab as a new investor.

The agreement coincides with Anthropic’s aggressive efforts to increase its processing power and get around capacity issues for its services as it gets ready for a massive IPO.

Last week, the business said that it was hiring developers with a variety of hardware and software stack experience to assist in co-designing new processors and AI models that might improve Claude’s speed and efficiency.
