According to airport officials, the achievement of this landmark is indicative of the metamorphosis taking place at KIAC (King Abdulaziz International Airport) as it becomes the go-to place for not just the world but the people of the nation as well. These are the Saudi Vision 2030 goals the airport is instrumental in achieving.
The next phases of development at the airport are looked at with the milestone as one of the steps made towards achieving the set goals. CEO Mazen Johar was of the opinion that the number reveals the high readiness level of operations and the growing role of the airport in the international aviation sector. Part of the plans is to cater for more passengers while raising the standard of services thus doubling their number in the years to come.
Without Jeddah’s growth, the story of the Oil Kingdom’s economic diversification through which a lot of attention has been put on tourism infrastructure and the country’s competitive advantage as a hub hub for Africa, Europe, and Asia-bound traveler’stransit would be incomplete. She has become a key player in the Kingdom’s transportation network by setting the stage for a passenger volume growth through various Infrastructure and service investment strategies.
The 50 millionth passenger milestone is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, which emphasize tourism as one of the keys to the future economy, job creation, and the broad services sector in total. The improved accessibility provided by facilities such as King Abdulaziz International Airport is the heart of these plans, as it offers more flights, other routes, and better passenger experience.
The airport is still on a record-setting run and, as such, officials foresee the next stage to be a focus on operational excellence, passenger comfort, and broadening Jeddah’s global partnerships.
